Literature Text

Soul in pieces,
shattered on the ground,
moving to the music,
and I can't hear the sound,
I'm lost in the crowd,
there's too much worth,
and not enough value,
in this home I call Earth,
my heart beating frivolously,
fallen on the floor,
bleeding through the carpet,
as the wind chatters through the door.

Slamming, shouting in the night,
fires charring up the land,
and I'm lying cold in bed,
then there's warmth on my hand,
when your fingers intertwine with mine,
your breath upon my skin,
you hold me close against your chest,
the place I'm meant to be in,
you are my safety forever more,
imbedded in my heart,
this calm and perfect that I've felt,
right since the very start.

I couldn't want you any more,
I'll die to make you feel the same,
it's everything I need in life,
just to hear you say my name,
you let me cry on your shoulder,
you let me be true,
and for the rest of our lives,
I will always love you.
